The color of your cars VT inspection sticker is for a quick check at a distance as to what year it will be due. Right now stickers are green going to yellow. Green expires 2020, Yellow in 2021. Colors change every year to a color that is easy to tell the difference from the previous year. It might go from red to green, then yellow, then blue and back to red again. The number indicates which month the sticker will expire. In Vermont we use only even numbers, and expiration is at midnight of last day of that month. If number 2 is on the sticker, the vehicle could have been inspected from January 1st up to February 28th. Right now every Green sticker with a 2 is due and if vehicle passes inspection it will get a yellow one with a 2. Now with a quick look you can tell when a VT inspection is due.
